As a Homeless Shelter Representative Trainee for Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, I’m obligated to inspect Certified Adult Shelters. It is my ethical responsibility to evaluation client’s case records, incident reports, resident’s savings ledgers and resident’s complaints at the shelters. I constrain to the compliance under OTDA 491 Regulations. Some inspections consist of revising the administration and financial records and reports of the facility. I prepare written reports and findings regarding the inspections. As well as handle follow-up inspections that were warranted, inadequate and insufficient. We interview client’s to make the shelter are providing outstanding services, receiving adequate service for their case manager/shelter, their needs are being meet and that they feel safe in their environment. We revise the operation plans and review applications for shelter certification. We facilitate inspections to analyze that the program requirements comply with the rights of the residents, staffing, food service, recreation, admission/discharge policies and etc. As a HSR, I assure that the shelters maintain an appropriate sanitary environment applicable to the

Clarke, I inspected 5 building with along with OTDA workers. We inspect the route slips with a staff for the Department of Homeless Shelter (DHS). We inspected the Facility Findings Violations 1, 2, &3 and the Unit Finding Violations 1, 2 & 3. We went into each apartment that inadequate, no verification, no response and non-verification to determine if the violation was completed. We observed that a lot of the violations and complements were unresolved and indicated out finding to the DHS staff on-site. I completed a Shelter Inspection Initiative route slip on the Review of Inspection Responses & Corrective Action Plans. Several of the violations opposed what we inspected and some were resolved.
