On september 11,2001 islamic terrorists attacked New York destroying The Twin Towers . December 7, 1941 Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor with bombs and torpedos .First i'm going to be giving a background of both of these attacks. The attack on 9/11 was planned on 1996 by Osama Bin Laden along with 19 other men who were from Saudi Arabia. Osama bin laden had a training camp for the 19 men so they could prepare for the attack . The cost of this attack was approximately $400000 to $500000 the 19 men already included.They spent most on traveling to different parts of the world , taking flight classes and gathering men . The rest of the basic stuff to eat, sleep and the daily basis things they bought at cheaper stores to save money and use it for …show more content…
They attacked them because japan gets 80% of their oil from United States , they were cut off or they raised up the price so Japanese got mad. The attacking planes came in two waves; the first hit at 7:53 AM, the second at 8:55. By 9:55 it was all over. By 1:00 PM the carriers that launched the planes from 274 miles off the coast of Oahu were heading back to Japan. The workers were still asleep and were woken up by bombs and torpedo sounds . They thought it was a drill but were informed it wasn't a drill and that they were being attacked . Planes screamed down the sky dropping bombs towards the ships .About 19 to 21 ships sank because of the torpedos that destroyed them ,after the attack the workers brought the ships backup to fix them . They fixed the ship's 2 years later .This attack brought United States into world War II .Japan also attacked Thailand,Philippine and Malaysia . United States declared war on Japan .On December 11 Germany and Italy as Japan's allies declared war on United States , but Chinese were now our allies .Pearl Harbor possessions fell to Japan one by one . This attack killed 2403 people , 188 planes destroyed and 21 damaged battleships. The similarities on both attacks are that these two attacks were unprovoked , nobody did anything or attack them , for them to attack U.S. Failure of intelligence in both cases, there was evidence on the 9/11 attack but the pieces weren't put together to crack the code earlier and they could have stopped the attack but couldn't or had no clue what the terrorists were planning . The attack on pearl harbor it was obvious that they would attack because of the distance between Japan and Hawaii . There was exaggerated subsequent follow-up attacks . On 9/11 the attackers took down the towers with 3 planes one after one around the same time causing fires when crashing and the towers collapsing .
