On the morning of September 11th, 2001, four planes were hijacked by the Afghanistan based terrorist group, al-Qaeda. The leader of al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, was the mastermind behind the plan, while the action was carried out by four trained pilots and fifteen “muscle hijackers”. Two of these planes crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City, starting fires in both towers, and eventually razing them to the ground. Another hijacked plane crashed into the Pentagon in Washington D.C. The final plane was crashed into a field in Pennsylvania, due to the efforts of the passengers on board.
