An increase of dopamine and serotonin levels affects normal communication between brain cells which results in euphoria. An increase in dopamine can also cause someone to feel a sense of well-being and diminished fatigue. Cocaine is very addictive and it is possible for someone to overdose on it so severely that they die. Nicotine is the stimulant found in cigarettes and it can cause severe health issues, especially in the lungs, and lead to cancer. Amphetamines are the most commonly abused of all drugs. They can lead to a loss of sleep or appetite as well as obsessive behaviors that lead to dependency. Stimulants are highly dangerous and extremely addictive and must be managed wisely to avoid serious negative circumstances.
