In the metabolism of glucose the insulin regulates the glucose by promoting the intake of the glucose through the insulin-sensitive tissues and by the inhibiting hepatic glucose production. The beta cells that control the insulin secretion is controlled directly by the plasma glucose concentration. This controls the increase in plasma glucose which causes the increase of insulin secretion.
