These students are generally not prepared for school and immediately drop out of college after the first semester because it was too difficult. When students are removed from a dependent environment and into an independent one it exposes the students to situations such as waking up for class on time without the help of parents, and making difficult decisions with consultation. They have to ultimately make decisions for themselves and survive the bustle of the fast paced college life all on their own. Upperclassmen can share valuable tips to balance their time, money, academics and social life. Upperclassman can guide the students around campus making sure incoming freshman know where to find assistant regarding any problems they have whether they need an academic advisor or a tiger mentor. Other solutions could come from the University itself. TSU could provide the new students with survival guides that tell students about the school year and the events going on that could help them transition through college. They could also set up a system were students could buy care packages that include the basic necessities for college such as pencils, paper, pens, journals, and planners to keep students on track and
