First, the causes of the war consisted of many things but some are more important than others. One such cause was the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 where “Woodrow Wilson wanted a treaty based on his 14-point plan which he believed would bring peace to Europe.” Another cause would be the Great Depression that started in 1929. One battle is the Battle of Britain. A campaign would be Operation Overlord & “Paris was liberated on 25 August, and the German Army had been pushed back completely, and retreated across the River Seine by 30 August.” Another battle would be the Battle of Guadalcanal. It ruined much of Japan’s morale due to American marines holding out against them on the island. More important battles would be the Battle of Stalingrad, Kursk, & Leyte Gulf.
Lastly, The Allied & Axis Powers were the two conflicting sides in World War II. The Allied Powers consisted of America, the Soviet Union, Great Britain, & many other smaller countries. “The Allied Powers were led by Great Britain, the United States, and the Soviet Union.” The Axis Powers consisted of Germany, Japan, Italy, & many other smaller countries, but many came unwillingly. “The three principal partners in the Axis alliance were Germany, Italy, and Japan.” The most powerful Ally was America. The most powerful Axis was Germany.
Overall, the causes, battles, campaigns, & people of World War II contributed to the war in its own way. It all lead to the end of World War II & gave the United States of America the chance to become a superpower. It gave strong shape for the future & changed
