One of the main things that caused the war was the conditions of the countries after WWI. The Treaty of Versailles which ended World War One required Germany to pay huge sums of money to the countries who fought in the war. The size of Germany was also greatly reduced. The German people were very unhappy about the treaty and thought that it was too harsh on their country. Germany could not afford to pay the money. There were no jobs and the price of food skyrocketed after the First World War. Angry with the government, the people voted into power Adolf Hitler who was one of the factors for WWII.

On December 7, 1941 the Japanese attacked the United States on American soil, the first time a foreign enemy ever hit us at home. Hawaii was the home to the Pacific fleet. Japanese bombers hit and sunk 18 ships, destroyed or damaged over 700 aircrafts, wounding thousands and killing thousands more. And while this battle was a big win for the Japanese, the attack would cause the United States to join the war and we would eventually beat Japan. On June 6, 1944 the Allies invaded German occupied France in an all out effort to take the country back. The allies would land on 5 different French beaches with over 135,000 soldiers.
