The Underlying Causes Of World War II

The Great War, the war that was thought to end all wars, one of if not the most bloody conflicts in all of history of the world. Little did the world know it was only to cause another war that would shake the world. World War II like World War I was a war between all of Europe and the United states. Only World War II also was between many other nations such as Japan, the new Soviet Union and China. Though there were many more, these were the major axis powers at the time. World War II would also make many large changes in combat, in all areas, ground, air and naval combat. There were revolutions in technology that not only allowed war to to more decisive but also more bloody at times. There were many immidiate causes of WWII and even more underlying causes, these were as the world now sees are almost the exact same. The ideal to study history to prevent it repeating itself does not hold true in this case. The well known causes such as Germany invading Poland and Japan invading China. These can in some cases not be prevented and on their own would not cause a war of this scale, although along with all the other causes light a spark that causes one of the largest wars of all times. Failure of the League of Nations is one of these situations, many countries relied on the support of the League to prevent further invaisions and wars against them. The League ended in failure as none of the members were willing to send soldiers to defend others or supplies that they also desperately needed. The appeasements left over from World War I also forced nations such as Germany to war as they had to gain territories and resources to not only pay back their reprerations but also to rebuild their own communities. The amount in reprerations they must pay have only been paid as of 2010, it took countries like germany over 91 years to pay for everyones
