On November 7, 1994 teacher Lowell Grimm was one of the four victims from the school shooting at Wickliffe Middle School. The shooter, Keith Ledeger was a former student that suffered from mental illness. In the 3 minutes and 34 seconds, the gunman fired off twenty rounds, and hit four people. Grimm was shot directly in the chest after rescuing a student. He was lucky to survive this horrific act, but did lose function in his arm. The victims as well as the shooter were all taken to the same hospital, so that goes to show you the lack of knowledge back then on school shootings.
