When you think of summer, what comes to mind?

For me, it’s all about sipping lemonade on the beach, having picnics with friends, and of course, strolling through farmers markets. Something about seeing all those fresh, locally-grown fruits and veggies (as well as baked goods, coffee, eggs, honey, jellies, syrups, soaps, and flowers!) always reminds me why summer is my favorite season.

The benefits of shopping at a farmers market are abundant. Fruits and vegetables are at their peak in both flavor and nutrition, and markets often have unique options you may not always find in your grocery store. Farmers markets sell fruits and veggies in their natural state, which helps fight grocery stores’ annual 33 million-ton waste of “ugly” food. Food
