The term “diversity” is often used when talking about people who differ in race, ethnicity, culture, religion, sexual orientation, ability, and socioeconomic status (Defining Diversity). Diversity in college campuses can bring many benefits for students. It provides them exposure to new viewpoints and perspectives, enriches class discussions, and prepares students to embrace a multicultural world upon graduation. Students are also more likely to become open minded because they are exposed to a diversified environment. For many students, it is of great importance to attend a college that values diversity.
