At first, the financial obligation of attending a community college was somewhat manageable. Admittedly, I had to pay close attention to my budget, but the tuition was not out of my reach. In fact, because of my lower income, I qualified for financial assistance. However, after completing my studies at community college, it was necessary that I attend a four-year institution to complete my degree. In contrast, the expense of attending community college was a sizable difference to attending a four-year institution. In conjunction with tuition, the required course books were more expensive as well. Many of the books required purchasing of an access code to gain access to the weekly assignments.
