What Are The Benefits Of A Hunter-Gather Society To An Agrarian Society

The development from a hunter-gather society to an Agrarian one, will be beneficial to the Akimiski people, because it effectively allows support for larger populations of people, and allows us to prioritize on other things. Firstly, agrarian societies allows for a controllable food supply, and food surpluses. A food surplus is when there is more food that is needed, or used, which is very beneficial. Food surpluses allow people to spend less time hunting and gathering, and more time trading, or finding better equipment, which makes it easier to produce food. The more food, the larger the population we can support. Agriculture can support people that do not primarily work in farming, but do different things, that benefit the community. While gatherers consume or shortly store what they gather, agrarian people put some aside to use for the following season. After people learned to domesticate plants and animals, they gradually learned to utilize animals for a variety of things. This allows a group of people whose survival methods are based on making and keeping crops and farmland, to do other things. People in an agricultural based society main priority is farming and domesticating animals, but it also causes people to do other things instead to farm based things. This society provides more sustainable place for us, since there is more time to do other productive things.
