Plastic has been known to help us in a lot of ways as it is used as a convenience such as packaging food, plastic bottles, wrapper, disposable forks and even as to contain all our groceries in one plastic bag. Imagine one person decided to go plastic free living just by doing as little as giving up at least 1 use of plastic in their usual life routine and then tells a friend, who then tells their family, and then tell their coworkers and the words pass on to multiple people. This create a ripple effect of plastic free ambassador all over around demanding for a change. Just as stated by Newton on his first law of motion called inertia which i like to quote , an object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion, unless acted upon a force. I like to think that we are the force to get people engaged and moving with the zero plastic waste living practice. If we don’t start to act, no one will and plastic problem will not go anywhere.
Many people dread the thought of giving up one of the most convenient thing in our life, plastics. However, being plastic free living should not be a convenient as there are many solutions we can make so as to be less dependent on plastics. Start by using tupperware when you want to buy food, bring a water container rather than buying water bottles, bring your own bag to buy grocery and then you can progress by completely go plastic free

Stemming from that is a contribution to the damaging effects of fossil fuels, the injection of harmful chemicals, the ever present litter on once natural landscapes, and the destruction of marine life. One of my favorite points the documentary talks about is how the thousands and thousands of plastic water bottles are affecting us and our world. In the film, it is stated that the amount of plastic in the oceans can fill up somewhere in between twice the size of Texas to the whole surface of the United States, and that there is nothing that can be done about it except stop feeding the oceans plastic and wait for it to rid of the plastic itself. Knowing that there is that much plastic in the oceans is enough to scare people into being more cautious with their use of plastic. People continue to believe that the issue can be solved by making sure that you recycle all used plastics. According to the director of the documentary, plastic can only be downgraded when its recycled, so it is only recycled so many times until it is rejected and no longer goes into the recycling…

Plastic recycling and reusing can become very tricky because the dependence is on location and what types of plastic can be recycled in that factory.
