SHRM agenda is an essential and critical part of a company’s expansion goals. It requires research and strategic planning and one of the important factor which should considered is local issue in the country of operation.
We have taken New Zealand as our home country and will discuss the potential issue which will arise if these factors are not taken into consideration.

DIVERSITY
Diversity is one of biggest realities of New Zealand today. There are people who belong to different nationality, race, age, culture, gender, sexuality, religious beliefs, interests, lifestyles, needs and desires. results in often disagreement and may lead to dispute if not addressed professionally. The root causes of conflicts in a diverse workforce are due to prejudice, culture, language , religion and gender (Feigenbaum, 2010).
There are only four issues discussed here, the others include – lack of trust between employees, low performance, dominance and command (Hartel & Fujimoto, 2010).
Diversity Management is inevitable in New Zealand and it should include cross-cultural training, team-building exercise, social events, communication platform and an effective diversity management team to address issues, if they arise.
A cultural representative should be elected for every community; they will help in ensuring proper lines of communication and suggest solution in case of conflicts.
