American Law Enforcement has been wrongly judged, especially in the last year. A handful of mistakes and wrongdoings has caused the entire occupation to adopt a harsh stereotype, racists and murderers. Consequently you will rarely hear a news story praising a police officer for saving a child, even though it happens often. Instead the media is bombarding you with messages about one police officer harassing or killing a citizen. Even though police brutality has occurred, it is the exception. The reality is law enforcement officers make the country safe and follow the rules presented before them. These officers adhere to strict policies and act as modern day superheroes while under constant threat of death and criticism.

For instance, a police officer in Washington D.C. took a child from the street that was shot (Donelan). A news source under American Broadcasting Company reports that the officer continued to hold the child in his arms while his partner drove to the nearest hospital. This officer could have just called an ambulance and been on his way, but instead he chose to go out of his way to insure that child’s safety. Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reports of another instance of police heroism. The report says Sergeant Joe Hudson in Georgia ran into a burning house to save a toddler without wearing any fire retardant gear (Mansbridge). The officer said that he could barely breathe, but he had to get to the child no matter what happened. Hudson nearly died to save that child, but it was all worth it to him. Many police officers go out of their way everyday to help others, even if it costs them their lives. They are willing to do whatever it takes to assist the people around
