Ideologies can be defined as the sets of basic beliefs about the political, economic, social, and cultural affairs held by the majority of people within a society. The three main beliefs found in the United States are liberals, moderates, and conservatives. There are three main issues within society and the economy that concern me; abortion, same-sex marriage and social security. Abortions became illegal for women in the Unites states by the year 1880. I am considered to be a conservative with the way I feel on this issue. The life of a person begins at conception. A mother has the right to put it up for adoption but aborting it should not be an option, unless rape is involved. Unborn babies have separate rights from the mother. In a year, 2013 to 2014 the program Planned Parenthood received 528.4 million dollars in public funding. Government should not be wasting money on providing ungrateful soon-to-be mothers with the option to kill their unborn babies.

Social security is in charge of old age insurance, unemployment compensation and public assistance. For this issue I take side with the liberals because I believe everyone should be able to get assistance from the government when you get to an old age. This should be protected at all cost. Most people can not manage their own savings enough to live after the age of 62 without working. When you get to that people in life, most would like to or have to stop working. People want to know they have something that covers then when they retire.
My political ideology is liberals but on some things I can be classified at moderate. Liberals believe people need the government to achieve equal opportunities and equality for everyone. I believe without a government we could not function much at all. People need to make their own choices on many things but government needs to be in control to help people make the right choices. Power is wanted by many but held by
