In chapter 12 of Things Fall Apart the reader finally gets some insight to the real feelings that Okonkwo has besides the manly image that we get to see near the end of the last chapter. We got to see that he really cares for both Ezinma and Ekwefi because he would take many trips to the cave finds that she’s missing and returns home again to wait. The feelings he has inside are of care for the two but he thinks that these emotions are a sign of his weakness. We get to see that he is honestly worried about the two and will do almost anything to protect them. He does not always show that he cares on the outside because he wants to seem like a strong leader to the village but on the inside he worries about their well-beings. The actions that
