Thomas Jefferson once said, “Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.” As an implied student at Colorado High School, I have many goals that I have set throughout the years. Most of them are for personal reasons, and others to help me be successful and at my best as possible. On the afternoon of October 12th, 2026, I hope to still be continuing my education at Texas A&M’s graduate school of Veterinary Medicine, and at this time I would like to be shadowing a vet and to have a job waiting for me when I graduate school. To begin with, I plan on graduating high school at the top of my class, which will eventually lead up to where I can get accepted straight into a four-year university where I can attend undergraduate school. As undergraduate school is finished, and I have my masters, hopefully, I will be enrolled into Texas A&M’s school of Veterinary Medicine come the following year. During my time at graduate school, I have set a goal to have as many hours and experience needed in the vet field as an actual upcoming graduate. In fact, students with more experience are more likely to have jobs waiting for them when …show more content…
When you set up all these goals just to achieve them, they will turn out to be something better in the long run than they were before. From graduating high school, going to a four-year university, graduating undergraduate school, to becoming a vet, with a family. All of these goals and hopes are very important to me. Although, most of all, I want to be successful and genuinely happy with what I have in life and where God put me. If that is with a job, and wife and kids who love me as much as I love them, then that is all I hope for. That is my ultimate goal and that is what I want on Monday afternoon October 12th,

My interest in the veterinary field began when I was six, when I arbitrarily announced I was going to be a veterinarian simply because I loved animals. Since I was quite young at the time, I was unaware what the job actually entailed. Consequently, I was somehow under the impression that if I watched National Geographic and Animal Planet, then I could immediately become a veterinarian upon graduating high school. I was undeterred when I realized just how much time that needed to be dedicated to school, and instead, it motivated me to take challenging classes in high school and to pursue a job at an animal hospital.…

This question has helped shape my personal values and principles and directed my path into the nursing field. Growing up in West Africa and witnessing firsthand the sufferings and impoverishment of the people around me, I developed a sense of compassion and willingness to make a difference and help alleviate their sufferings and put a smile on their faces. Healthcare delivery and poverty are two major underlying factors in the challenges faced in Africa, thus, when I got an opportunity to come into the United States, it was my golden ticket to finally give back to the community and make a difference. This led me into the nursing field; I started out as a Certified Nurse Assistant.…

The only thing that surprised me was learning that wright state had an animal science lab and learning about that awesome water proof notebook. These technically can be related to careers as I now have an opportunity to volunteer at an animal lab, which I would not have gotten otherwise, and I will be able to use the experience gain into application for Ohio State University College of Veterinarian. The book I am planning to use during my time in ROTC, and most likely during veterinarian field work. There are no new careers that I am considering about doing after learning about the job description in this class.…

However, to obtain the right education and experiences to enable this, goals (both short-term and long-term) must be set. My short-term goals include making A’s in all of my courses this semester, securing an internship for the summer involving animals, and acing all of my chemistry 101 tests. As for my long-term goals, I want to get accepted into veterinary school, maintain a 3.5 or higher GPR as I get my undergraduate degree, and to positively impact others lives with my work.…
