One of the major problems I am facing right now is time management. This problem is being made worse by many of my bad habits. These bad habits include.
1) Procrastination
2) Not following through with previously made plans properly.
3) Not utilizing free times properly, and wasting time watching TV and YouTube videos.
Modifying Behaviors are not an easy thing to do. It is something that most people are uncomfortable with and generally find it difficult to do. In the book “Studying Engineering, a road-map to a rewarding career” by Raymond Landis a simple three step method

The source of my problems really are that I simply do not follow routines. So, my basic task to fix my bad behaviors is to make efficient routines and discipline myself into following those routines.
The second step will be to truly committing to changing my behaviors. Truly committing to change one’s own habits is something very few people succeed in doing since they love their bad habits a lot. In my case I simply love doing absolutely nothing and lay on my back for hours letting my thoughts wander. This is just inexcusable laziness. To solve this problem I have started to use positive reinforcements on myself like giving myself half an hour breaks after studying for a long time.
The third step is to implement the changes I want to make. I decided to do so in small steps. Recently I have been making plans That are not very strict and are easier to follow. Once I create a habit of following these plans I will move on to stricter routines. The final goal is to be able to finish my assignment two or three days before the due date.

This assignment seemed just like any other. There was a deadline and guidelines and goals that were going to dictate the structure of it. I, however, didn’t know that I was wrong, and it was going to be far from any other. I have a habit, a detrimental one, that was slowly being fed and reassured as “ok” the more and more I went through my schooling. That habit has a name, procrastination, yet I never saw it as a problem because with every assignment and paper I wrote the night before and was able to get a decent grade, there was this unconscious signal that reassure me that if done once, it could be done again.…

After I read the 7 habits book, I started to know that I don’t actually have an appropriate balance among the various aspects of my life (family, friends, work, and so forth). I started to know this as I read the RBA (relationship bank account) pages. I came to know that about me because in the RBA section, RBA deposits and RBA withdrawals, I read the RBA deposits and I didn’t fit into all of them, but as I read the RBA withdrawals I came to know that I fitted into almost everything like Break promises, Talk too much, and Keep to yourself. I always do these kind of stuff to my friends, peers, and my best friends which makes it harder to keep up with my relationships. In the habit 4 worksheet, I had a lot of situations that relates to win- lose and lose- win attitude which I could have easily changed to a win- win situation, but I didn’t…

One of the goals I have selected for myself in this class was not to procrastinate. I found two articles I used for resources. The first article was I’ll Do It Tomorrow: The Logic Procrastination by Lisa M Zarick and Robert Stonebraker. The second was Good and Bad Procrastination by Paul Graham. Both articles talked about different aspects of procrastination, but had the some of the same ways to prevent or help with procrastination.…

The first task is finding an area that I might be over-efforting and shift that effort. I am somewhat of a perfectionist and that brings a lot of unnecessary stress in my life. I feel like an area that I sometimes over-efforting is relationship. I overthink conversations and try to make everybody happy, which can be exhausting for myself and sometimes even others. Therefore, recently, I worked on letting go and have gotten better at not ruminating.…

In the book The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg, he claims people can understand and change personal habits. Duhigg provides a description of the so-called habit loop composed of a cue, routine, and reward, pointing out the cues start habits and rewards signal the brain to remember routines. In particular, students should “recognize which craving is the driving behavior” of procrastination to (50).…

The behavior change I chose to implement for fourteen days was daily exercise. In high school, I was very good at running for long periods of time. I could run 2 miles in under 16 minutes and not have to take walking breaks during my running period. Most importantly, I used to work out everyday and tried to better myself. I got a concussion from cheerleading at the of 2015 and I took a break from sports and running because of my injury.…

Throughout this project, I have learned an immense amount of information about how my habits and actions can be improved upon. My original goals were: know the schedule, review before exams, get faster, be more engaging, get organized, and be positive. From this, I divided my goals into two academic (know the schedule and review before exams), two work related (get faster and be more engaging), and finally, two personal goals (be more engaging and be positive). This was the base with which I began at the beginning of project and from which I built upon as the semester went forward. I must admit, initial progress on my goals was rather slow.…
