Illegal Immigration is a big concern in our government today. Every year thousands of illegals enter the united states seeking a better life for them and their families. That all seem fine but many Americans feel like their country is being invaded and taken over by those illegal immigrants. They believe that undocumented people are taken all the jobs available in the country and are costing our country millions. So you have to wonder are illegal immigrants hurting our country’s economy? That tax money is used to help our social security system and other government programs but they are not entitled to use those benefits. With they billions, they pay in taxes they are only entitled to free schooling and emergency healthcare. Many of those families struggle to put food on the table for their family but the government won’t give them food stamps because they are not citizens but want them to pay taxes. The system the U.S. government has in place is unfair and need to be changed. If they have to pay taxes they should be able to use all the benefits they are paying for. “Undocumented immigrants paid $11.6 billion in state and local taxes in 2013”(AIC). The United States likes to call its self a country built by immigrants and a place where people can come and follow their dreams, but they are not doing that for those that arrive here illegally. I believe that the government is taking advantage of undocumented citizens to add revenue into our economy, and when they 're done with them they have them deport back to their country and continue the cycle. It’s a waste of money continuing the cycle because it costs the government millions to deport them. Many Americans are willing to hire illegals because of their desire and passion for working hard and making a living for them and their families. “ A 2010 Census report found that 1.6 percent of immigrant males ages 18 to 39 were incarcerated, compared to 3.3 percent of native-born males in the same age group” (Yurcaba) undocumented workers don’t come to our country to cause problems and become criminals, they came to better their lives and escape the situation they were in before. Some even arrive at our country to escape the crime filled neighborhood in their country because they feared for their family’s safety like many of us Americans do.
