What Are Four Defining Thoughts

Decent Essays
There are so many thoughts going through my head about events and experiences that have brought me to this place and time. Four defining thoughts stand out.

The first is the most important and influences me to the core of my very being, every day and in every way. This was when I gave me heart and life completely to Jesus at age ten. I wandered away from Him many times over the years, but He never gave up on me and wouldn't let me go. I'm so thankful He didn't. He is everything to me.

The second, third, and fourth are my three daughters. They have inspired me and pushed me to continue my education for several years.

My daughter Sherene inspires me because I witnessed her fight to complete her degree against the odds

Supreme Court Justice and Latina woman, Sonia Sotomayor once stated, “The Latina in me is an ember that blazes forever.” After given much thought on what it means to be an Idaho Latina, I could not think of how to describe the feeling or how one thinks, acts, and lives. I feel like I haven’t found my place in the Hispanic population in school even though I am full Hispanic. I don’t speak Spanish fluently, I am at a different academic level than other Hispanics, and I have different interests. Yet the “ember still burns inside me”, thanks to my padres and my abuelos I know what is like to be an Idahoan Latina.…

My Catalyst Each individual in this world carries on a view of themselves, of others, of things, of beings that expand from one state of mind to another. Each event that has happened from birth to this day acts like a rhythmic catalyst carrying one piece of the story to the next. At certain times of our lives, that catalyst can become more than a regular “piece”, it becomes something that we often look back to as we grow up. It could range from first realizing that a plump man in a red velvet suit cannot possibly squeeze his body into a chimney, to standing in front of a crowd dressed in a white dress and veil to say “I do”. What has impacted me, were a few simple words that my uncle had said that had extraordinarily simplified my young and yet to be understood life.…

The person who inspires me the most is soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, he isn't just a normal soccer player to me he is my inspiration and my motivation to never stop trying, never give up, and doing the best I can. This belief is important to me because during my own personal struggles as a kid I looked up to Ronaldo as a role model someone who I could relate to and make a personal connection with. I have come to develop this belief because even with Cristiano's struggles in life he was still able to do what everyone claimed to be impossible, change the way million's of people view the sport of soccer. When I first witnessed Cristiano Ronaldo play soccer I didn't think of him as anything special just another ordinary Portuguese soccer player, but as his talent started to improve so…
