What Are Driverless Cars Essay

Driverless cars - they feel their surroundings with such techniques as radar, lidar, GPS, odometry, & computer vision. They update their maps based on sensory input, allowing the vehicles to keep track of their position, even in changing conditions, or in a uncharted environment. These machines have control systems that are capable of analyzing sensory data to distinguish between different cars on the road. Now, some people do not exactly support these vehicles. ‘Oh, they’ll destroy the economy!’ , ‘Oh, they’ll never be as good as us!’, and many other things. But, these vehicles are amazing things that’ll be very useful in everyday life. They are to be beheld as one of the best things to ever come to us. And, I truly believe they will lessen the amount of deaths caused by these horrible drunk drivers who keep taking more lives. I truly do. These vehicles are not the future. They’re here, right now, and are already better than us. I will be going over my 3 main reasons for these cars being one of the best things to happen to us. For one, they’ll be godsend for any disabled, or elderly. Secondly, they’re going to be able to free up time for anyone going to work, and or schooling or really any area. Perhaps, you live quite a far way from work, as many of us do. According to the Sydney Herald, If you owned a driverless car, you could have time to finish up some work, perhaps watch a video, read a book. Even play a game if you had felt like it. Doesn’t that sound amazing? Well, I agree, it does. Everyone could have a better experience, without the struggles of traffic, 3 hour drives, and many other issues that rest upon people of our world.
