In reviewing Allstate’s major competitors, it’s important to identify those companies that pose the greatest risk to profitability. In comparing Allstate to other insurance companies, the following are major competitors: Progressive Insurance, Travelers Insurance, State Farm, and Farm Bureau. The Allstate Corporation has a major advantage over the companies listed above for the following reason; Allstate Corporation contracts with Registered Financial Advisors to provide financial and life planning advice. Further, the companies mentioned above only employs insurance agents that lack the expertise of a financial advisor.
