It is important to conduct research in areas of health and social care in order to identify needs, provide further knowledge and highlight gaps in provision. Research allows improvements to be made too many provisions that have immediate everyday importance, (Talman, 2010). An example of examining topics of contemporary importance can be forced marriages. This is due to better supervision needs to be put into place to support the young people who are being forced into a marriage they do not want to be in. there are many other contemporary topics of importance, including: genetic research, cloning, use of stem cell research and the emergence/re-emergence of life threatening diseases, illnesses and viruses such as TB, AIDS/HIV, (Talman, …show more content…
