I believe that character defines what a person is and what a person becomes. Even before the soul is born God claims us as his own. We are his. By God 's own power and promise we are imprinted with the love, character, and image of God powerfully within us We are his holy family, a royal priesthood. “Come to him, to that living stone, rejected by men but in God 's sight chosen and precious; For it stands in scripture: "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious,and he who believes in him will not be put to shame."But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God 's own people, that you may declare the wonderful deeds of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” 1Peter 2:4-9 (RSV)

We are claimed by our Lord and Savior Jesus, the Son of God who gave himself to us upon the cross for our sins and for our salvation. Because of the depth of Christ and his love, character, and conviction to seek and save all of us from the devil and all of his empty promises, we no longer are victims but victors. Through the death, life and resurrection, and now with the ascension of our Lord and Savior who reigns with the Father, we are marked with the sign of the cross and sealed with the Holy Spirit. We proudly claim and bear the name of Christ. This is our greatest spiritual claim to have an eternal relationship to God now and forever.
