When it comes to education, it always seems that schools are cutting out their music and art programs. Well, sadly it is because they are. With the growing cost of education, many schools find themselves forced to cut out these programs. Our very own Westwind Elementary was forced to make this difficult decision. However, Westwind has been lucky enough to have the support of their community, and thanks to this support they now offer their student an after school program focused on nurturing their creative interests. Westwind’s Creative Sessions is a non-profit group who believes every child deserves the opportunity to a creative outlet; they work to provide the children of the Westwind Neighborhood with that opportunity.

However, with the growing interest in the program, the cost of running classes has also began to grow. All materials used for the classes are donated by instructors or community members. The instructors themselves are community members who volunteer their time. Westwind’s Creative Sessions are here as a starting point to help children discover a love for the arts. That is why they will be holding the first ever Westwind’s Creative Exhibition. Children participating in the program will now have the opportunity to share their work with the community that supports them so much. As well, items will be auctioned off and all processed will go back into the program. Just like Westwind’s Creative Sessions, this event will be put together through the help of volunteers and
