Long ago, in a small town called Crowel Corners, there was a little boy named Weston Tucker. Weston was a very shy, curious, considerate, but courteous person. His kinfolk were well-known throughout the state of Texas, but living on the edge with the bills. His mother, Missy, was a tailor, sewing and making clothes for who knows how many people. His father, Warren, was a professional in the rodeo. He would always be traveling to and from rodeos, except for the holiday seasons. His best friend, Beau Montgomery, had just moved far away: about twenty miles out of town (for a six-year-old, twenty miles is extremely far away). He is from Crowel Corners, Texas and is the youngest among all of the bull riders tonight. He is only twenty-two years of age.” The roars of the crowd begin to fill the air as the young rookie begins to get into the gate. The bull commences to buck when it feels the cowboy on top of his back. The announcer continues to say, “After a horrible tragedy seven years ago, Weston trained himself for this bull-riding event tonight. He will be riding the most dangerous bull there is. With 76.43 percent buck-off percent, he’ll be riding Tombstone the bull.” The time began to slow down and the roars began to fade, “It’s just me and Tombstone,” Weston said to himself. As the young rider is getting ready to have the longest eight seconds of his life, he is interrupted. “Hey!” his best friend yells, “Good luck!” Beau waits on the sideline of the ring. Weston smiles in return, in hopes that he will make it back out of the …show more content…
Every person in the arena is on the edge of their seats, watching as the young cowboy is jerked back and forth, swinging his arm in the air. The slow motion is back to present time and the eight seconds are up. “And there it is, ladies and gentlemen!” the announcer shouts in excitement, “The new frontrunner on our leaderboard tonight, with 99.9 points: Weston Tucker!” I can’t believe it! I actually did it! After getting off of the bull, Beau, Casey, and Sarah run up to Weston in excitement. The cheers of the crowd were as loud as a horn. The new rookie-of-the-year was receiving standing ovations from each and every individual in the arena.
