Westlake Chemical is corporation that makes chemical and plastic products. This company is global supplier of plastics, petrochemicals and building products. President and CEO of Westlake Chemical is Albert Chao. It was founded in 1986. and has headquarters at Houston, Texas. This corporation has approximately 9000 employees. Westlake Chemical has two major bussiness segments: olefins and vinyls. Westlake manufactures two primary petrochemicals-ethylene and styrene monomer.In 2014, Westlake Chemical Partners (NYSE: WLKP) is formed. This corporation goals are to operate and develop ethylene production. Westlake ethylene supplies styrene plant, which produces the primary raw material for polystyrene, coatings, unsaturated polyester and many other derivatives. Westlake Chemical has modern safety and environmental technologies to reduce emissions below regulated levels and by this, they can ensure safety to employees. Ethylene is the world’s most used petrochemical component. It is the key for producing higher chemicals including polyethylene, ethylene dichloridestyrene and ethylene oxide.
