My patient has been living without electricity for the past two months. During today’s session, she explained her struggle in living without any electricity, in managing heightened depressive symptoms, and in trying to have the issues resolved. Later, she became tearful as she disclosed the incident that took place two weeks ago: After receiving additional fund to pay off the electrical bills, she called her case worker at New Phases and asked the case worker to drop her off at Western Union. The case worker was willing to do so upon her supervisor’s approval. Unfortunately, the request was denied. My patient later spoke to the supervisor and asked for explanation of not being approved. According to pt, the reply was conveyed in ‘insensitive’
