North American culture has been set for many years that the norms of society are set into place but are affecting those who do not fit into the norms of society. In order for all different types of people to be able to enjoy leisure services and society, we as employees in the field must create an opening environment for people to feel safe and comfortable in. For some people, they have been living under oppression for a while, and although society tries to eliminate these feelings they have not.
