West of Loathing is a unique mix between a point and click adventure and a turn based action rpg. Though you do have the ability to walk around the game using W,A,S,D I would use point and click to walk around find objects. The developers have a bag type system that is pretty good. Every item can be shown to you in a long list or you can sort every item down to make it more manageable. It seems as though whenever you want to leave a scene you walk off screen to the left. This is neat because of the connection to the game and overall quest of moving west. Even to continue moving west you have to use a train company called the manifest destiny railroad company.

I met up with a couple of pardners like Gary the Goblin and Susie Cochrane. The only way to actually speak to Susie is to go to the graveyard and see her family's graves. This built your connection to her. Soon you help her get revenge by killing the cows at her ranch and then retrieving her mom’s rifle.
Narrative- This game was built on a simple premise. That Your character Frank wants to go west. This quest Has lead you to meet many of unique and weird characters. The narrative for the game even plays a big roll in how the story is told for you. They try to convince you to do thinks or remarks on the choices you make. I tried to reach into a spittoon to grab a shiny object and the entire time the narrator would voer describe how disgusting the spittoon
