The West Nile virus was first discovered in 1937 in East Africa in the district of Uganda. The first documented report of the West Nile Virus was with an unidentified woman that was living in the West Nile district in Uganda. The virus was accountable for numerous outbreaks, including one in Israel, in 1957. Elderly patients who were diagnosed with serve human meningoencephalitis (inflammation of the brain and surrounding tissue caused by an infection), consequently was caused by The West Nile Virus.
