Jazz History Concert Report II For my final concert writing critique, I decided to attend the live Ball State Student Jazz Combos on Tuesday, November 8; this event took place in Choral Hall inside of the university’s Music Instruction Building. Our Event, Diggin’ It Music Festival The Augusta Christian volleyball team held their first ever Diggin’ It Music Festival at the Columbia County Amphitheater on Saturday, September 9th. The bands I AM SPARTACUS and Brooke McBride hired through GigMasters, played to a smaller than anticipated yet lively audience. Every day, I try to listen to a new piece of music. Whether it be a string group, unaccompanied choir, or even a percussion consort, I believe that by doing this, so much can be learned from just listening. For my own virtual jazz band, I wanted to try and pick jazz musicians who could mend well with a dance or a swing band. Max Roach on drums, Charles Mingus on bass, Benny Goodman on clarinet, Lester Young on tenor sax, Cannonball Adderly on alto sax, Joe “Tricky Sam” Nanton on trombone, Dizzy Gillespie on trumpet, Ella Fitzgerald and Cab Calloway as singers, and Duke Ellington on piano and as the bandleader. The group would have the style of early 20th century dance bands and do a live performance in front of an audience, possibly with a dance floor. The style of the band, as a whole, would take after a lot of Duke Ellingtons’ early big bands.…
The night of October 1, 2017, was most certainly appalling for the citizens of the United States and even routed to the reignition of the gun law debate. The annual Route 91 Harvest Music Festival was booming with cheers and laughter from the country-loving crowd of approximately 22,000 people. Jason Aldean was performing the closing song on the final night of the three day festival and gleeful cheers were erupting from the crowd as they heard what they supposed were fireworks to close off the night. That merriment and hysteria converted almost instantly into petrified wails when individuals began to witness bloodied bodies tumble to the ground all around them. More than 50 people perished that night, and over 500 were wounded.…

Bach Mass in B Minor music concert at Converse College, featuring a performance by the Spartanburg Festival Chorus. I enjoyed the musical selections performed by the chorus and saw a few familiar faces of some of my classmates at the concert as well. This was the world 's first collaborative online orchestra. This extraordinary event took place at Carnegie Hall on April 15, 2009. The orchestra is made of 96 musicians and amateur musicians from 30+ countries and territories on six continents. There was also 26 different instruments included in the orchestra. Over the summer there was a musical festival that happens at PNC Art Center in Holmdel, New Jersey. The genre of music bands play at Warped Tour is mainly pop punk and alternative with a little bit of screamo. If you attend Warped Tour you will notice the audience to be a mix of teenagers and college students. Bands used instruments such as the guitar, bass, and drums. The music was very upbeat and fast paced which the crowd reacted to in a violent manner.…
Concert Report Two The concert performance given live that I have attended on Thursday April 20th, 2017 was an organ licentiate recital by Ian Guenette. It was held at the Redpath Hall, a building located on McTavish street. The Redpath Hall was first dedicated for a library building, but is now taken charge by the Schulich School of Music. The Hall is very charming with its high selling that contains thick dark brown carved wodden beams that covers the intire ceiling and gives warmth to the room.…

While the two radio stations have different genres and target audiences, there are similarities between them. For the hour of audio analysed from each radio station, the same time, midday to 1pm was sampled. Format wise both stations were similar, starting the hour off with a song, contrary to the norm, which is newsbreaks and/or weather report. The similarities in the formats continue, as after the song at the beginning hour, there is a voice breaks from the announcer, followed by a block of songs, only separated by the Radio ID of the respective station.…
As the audience began to fill the large arena theatre at the St. Louis America’s Center dome I got felt that everyone in that room was there to hear great music. Before Beyoncé took the stage the prelude was very musical as well. The arena had background music playing to keep the audience entertained. Bob devoted his life to spreading a positive message to all through Reggae Music. One of his most important concerts was The One Love Peace Concert of 1978, Marley brought on stage the Prime Minister of Jamaica Michael Manley and Edward Seaga the leader of political oppression and asked they shake hands as he was always using his music and hoping to inspire and forge bonds of love and peace between any in conflict. Bob was at one time awarded with a United Nations Medal of Peace for his efforts. Musicians like The Beatles and Bob Marley are just a couple of fine examples of what important roles music can play around the world. Without them and many like them the world would be without many important concepts and values we hold high as a society today.…
