The West Central Football team has fought hard to have a phenomenal regular season this year. The Senior class is full of great athletes and great size, using some help from the Junior class. Before the season, the Trojans looked like a team that could definitely contend for a state championship. The Trojans knew that their competition would be the Madison Bulldogs, a team with a lot of great skill players. The Trojans kicked off their season against the Panthers of Dakota Valley, stomping them 44 to 7. “It was a good win to start off our season. Dakota Valley is a young team and they definitely earned my respect,” said Senior quarterback Dan Skinner. The Trojans faced a little more competition in their second game against the Canton C-Hawks, a team with a lot of big, tough athletes. The Trojans cruised through this game winning 30 to 7. The Trojans knew that week 3 would be their toughest game of the year: Madison. West Central kept up with the Bulldogs in …show more content…
However, the Bulldogs took control the second half, winning 28 to 7. The Trojans hope to maybe have a rematch of this game later in the year in Vermillion. The Trojans knew that they had to bounce back with a win in week 4 against the 11B Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan C-Hawks. Bouncing back they did, winning this one 28 to 18. West Central High School had homecoming on September 25, facing the rival Dell Rapids Quarriers. The Trojans were able to take care of the young Dell Rapids team, winning 30 to 7. The following week, the Trojans faced off with the Lennox Orioles. Lennox has been looking forward their senior class this year for a long time. However, the Trojans shut their athletic team down, winning 35 to 7. In week 7, the Trojans faced a team that was athletically similar to Lennox, the Tea Titans. The Trojans played what they think was their best game of the season, with a dominating 40 to 10 win. The following week, the Trojans faced off with their neighbors to the north, the
