Wes Moore’s leadership attributes are not specific to him. Instead, such attributes as courage, reverence, and loyalty are prevalent in all leaders in society. These characteristics, and more, are all included in the Boy Scouts of America Scout Law: trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent (BSA 2016). The reason the Boy Scouts were acknowledged directly is because I am an Eagle Scout. To be an Eagle Scout, one must show exemplary leadership in their community by leading a service project that is beneficial to all. For this, I built a fence that protects the community garden. All harvests from this garden are donated to the local food shelters. Completing this project included four months of working with the town to plan, and another two months of working with family, friends, and other scouts to build the fence, which stands with a space

In order to be respected, according to the golden rule, one must also show respect. Even if I may not possess certain leadership traits, I have worked with people that show me how to make the most of who I am. For example, my swim coach. Some people may abandon a leader because he or she is too demanding. My swim coach was very demanding, resulting in one tiring practice after another; however, he was also very considerate and respectful, which resulted in the whole team growing as one.
A final leadership attribute that I cherish is the ability to work with others, instead of working over them. When someone works over others, the job is not done as efficiently; however, when a leader works with other people, the job is completed on time with efficiency and care.
