The other Wes had no one to influence him to the right path. Having no better role model than his gang and his mother and brother who did drugs, he had no better choice than the easiest way to get money in the drug trade. Both authors had influence from their family. The author made many choices that made him go off track, those consequences and actions lead him to knowing from right and wrong. The other wes thought his choices had nothing to do with his destiny, he just thought his destiny was predetermined and was never for the good of him.

Even being in jail he said he knew he would always end up there. The other wes moore only had gang people in his life, guiding him to do things that wouldn’t benefit his future. He had the choice to give the weird man asking for drugs and he knew that something was off. At first he said he wouldn’t but he thought about those extra twenty dollars and how they would help him on his date. Not thinking about anything else, he decided to give the man the drugs, he then got arrested and said why is life after him, when his choices were the result of that.
