Were You Taught Cursive Writing Be Taught Cursive Writing In School?

Were you taught cursive writing when you were in PreSchool? Back when I was in PreK, they taught us how to write in cursive. Although that was only about 10 years ago, they have taken cursive writing out of the learning recommendations. I, personally, liked the idea of cursive writing, but the way technology has changed, it is no longer need. It is helpful, but it is also unnecessary to how things are scored in schools today. In passage 1, paragraph 1 it states "Cursive writing has been proven to be good for our minds." I can say that writing in cursive does help me some when writing something, but it also takes longer and most people can't read the cursive. Where students aren't being taught cursive writing any longer, when they see it they are not going to be able to understand or read what it says. It can be a little confusing when writing it as well. Printed writing or typing is an easier way of reading what is being said. In passage 2, paragraph 2 it says "A signature is no longer needed for many legal documents or receipts." It is easier to remember what I wrote than what I had typed. That being said though, just because you are writing your notes versus typing them, you can still print them instead of writing them in cursive. I just think it takes a lot longer to write in cursive than to just print my words. In passage 2, paragraph 3, it says "Current learning standards require that students are proficient in typing by fourth grade." On essays, I do think you should type them instead of writing them, because now days you are usually timed so it is a lot quicker to type.
