Wendy Miller’s perspective on change is that it is constantly occurring in her life, and there are some negative and positive things that come out of big and small changes. An example of a negative change for Wendy was when she was in 8th grade and had to move to Illinois from Wisconsin. She was forced to go to a brand new school and be away from her friends which had a negative affect. Wendy also had to adapt from a small town life to a big suburban life when she moved. Another time that change affected Wendy was when she went to college and had to be more independent which positively affected her life. For example, without changing from a nomadic society to a farming society, we might not be as advanced or as knowledgeable as we are today. The human race might still be in the stone age for all we know. After the human race starts farming, we learned how to build permanent structures that we use today. Change can also reveal itself in society when people change their behaviors. If someone who is usually very closed off to other people and learns how to open up to others, then that person could help other people with their problems in life.
