On the gorgeous hot spring weekend of April 23rd and 24th, I participating in a wellness festival called the WigWam Wellness Fest. The festival took place at the Chattahoochee Nature Center and was centered around yoga and meditation, offering multiple classes and workshops through sessions throughout the day. The “stages” were in nature on a pavilion, rooftop deck, garden, pond, hiking path, etc. The “acts” were wellness experiences like yoga, dance, stand up paddle-boarding, inspirational speakers, meditation, chef demonstrations, sound therapy, health workshops, etc. The goal, as said by the creator, was to create an experience where the mind, body, and soul could …show more content…
I started off the day with a Sonic Savasana sound bath meditation with harmonic vibrations of quartz crystal singing bowls. This restorative practice was difficult, as I was in (or trying to be in) a meditative state for an hour, but it was truly rejuvenation to the mind, body, and spirit. My physical body was relaxed as it brought balance to the left and right hemispheres of the brain, cleared the energetic body, and left me with renewed clarity, focus, and spirit. Left in such a blissful state, I proceeded to partake in a much-needed Thai massage in a meditation hut on the grass. By mid-day, I headed to a workshop for yoga teachers on “Master Fixes" which work to make weak muscles strong and correct common dysfunctions in yoga postures for yoga students. As a beautiful end to the weekend, I concluded with a Chakra Balancing Yin Yoga Experience that included a personal chakra assessment, yin asanas, breath work, and affirmation to release energy blockages. It all ended with a powerful Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) which strengthened the entire chakra

This is another item that has a double meaning. First being that yoga itself has taken my baseball career and my body in general in a different direction than where it was going. I have been able to sleep, walk and move in general so much better than before just from simply taking one hour a day or so to just spend time on the one body you get. The second being that I spend a lot of time meditating on many thoughts and situations in my life. I believe that mediation gives you the needed time to process everything that is going on in your life both good and bad teaches you to focus on the positive inspiring thoughts.…

The lesson I valued the most in module 7 was the four dimensions of wellness. The reason why I value this lesson principle the most is because, in my mind, an Airman or supervisor, even yourself, needs to be away of fit or “well” you actually are. In the Air force we always here whether the most important aspect to air power is the people or the mission. My opinion on the matter is that without the people of the Corps, the mission would not ne successful to its fullest potential.…

Physical and psychological health is important to the success of musicians in numerous ways. I will be outlining the most important health issues in this essay, ways in which these issues can be prevented, and the importance of prevention of these health issues. Physical health is important to musicians as the act of performing a piece of music is a physical act. Without the correct physical action the performance can be negatively affected. Different musicians may depend on different parts of the body during performances, for example a singer, as a whole, would not have to use their hands during a performance, and could as such still perform with, for example a broken finger.…
