I am writing in reference to the discussed issue of our Company’s communication strategy regarding employee participation in the Wellness Program.
It was brought up by the board the issue of a positive correlation between employee wellness and the use of insurance benefit funds. Specifically, I encourage you to address the increasing costs in health benefits related to preventable health deficits. This is something we can work with through our communication strategy.
In order to maintain efficient economical operation within our company, as well as to support wellbeing, productivity and morale of our employees. I propose to employ the new Wellness Program to promote and strengthen health awareness. I have identified critical issues here, these are: voluntary nature of the program vs. employees’ choice to participate, and the issue of medical data confidentiality. To address those key points, I recommend emphasizing the value of choice, agency, convenience, control of health capital as an incremental value, as well as the benefits vs. alternative costs of acquiring up-to-date self and family’s health information. To address the problem of confidentiality objections, I recommend emphasizing that each employee will have sole access to the results of his or her examination results.
