Well-Building Standards

Well Building standard was created after many years of research done by experts in the health, and building industry, it is the only building standard that solely looks at human health and wellbeing of building occupants. The certification uses a tear system similar to LEED, it is a third party certification and it includes a platinum, gold, and silver certification, the standard includes a point system of one hundred and two metrics in seven categories, and it is more flexible than LEED. Gold level certification is achieved by meeting all of the WELL Preconditions, as well as 40 percent or more of the Optimization Features. Silver level certification is achieved by meeting 100 percent of the WELL Preconditions applicable to the Typology in all Concepts (Certification). The registration process begins online, and it consists of five steps, registration, documentation requirements, performance verification, certification and recertification and documentation submission. WELL requires a recertification every three years, to ensure the building still meets the standards of its certification, registration costs are anywhere from fifteen hundred to ten thousand dollars, depending on the project.
