According to National Coalition for Homeless, 68% of US major cities has reported that addiction is one of the largest cause of homelessness. At some point we have all seen people dosing on the roadside are usually between the age of 20s and 30s. During these age group, most people just finished their education and employed for almost six years at the most. They do not have much savings in their accounts and they could not afford all what they need and want, when they spend their weekly salary on purchasing drugs and alcohol. Drugs and Alcohol become their priority once they get addicted to it. That is why most of them do not have enough money to pay for their housing and foods. As a result, they prefer to sleep in the park and street side. Additionally, addiction will pull the person away from socializing and performing daily routine and eventually ended up alone on the street. All in all, increasing number of homelessness is not because an Individual chooses to become homeless but they are forced to become homeless cause by various circumstances. People are unable to pay their rent due to high cost of housing, some people have experienced major life tragedies and some people are homeless because of addiction problem.
