People on welfare can go to the market basket and buy a lobster because they feel like it. They should have strict restrictions. For example, milk, white bread, cold cuts, chicken breast, all of which are not too expensive and are still, for the most part, healthy. The reason I say they should be restricted is because people without welfare who barely get by can not go to the grocery store and buy lobster and other very expensive foods. Even though they work more and support themselves. People less fortunate are becoming more fortunate by doing no work and that is very unfair to the majority. Also, the use of cigarettes should be forbidden. If you can spend $10 a day on cigarettes and not afford food for yourself there is a problem. That $10 should be going towards things like food because food is that ever so scary word, necessity. Regardless of everything said I personally do not believe welfare is a bad thing, it is simply not done properly. Money that I earn should be my money, if I wanted to give my money away I would. You as well should be able to make that decision for yourself. Overall, the welfare system is a great idea done wrong. The potential is there but the government set it up wrong. We are catering to the people we should not only because it will save the government time and money. In order to be prosperous as a whole, the government needs to change in order to make it fair. I can not stress enough how there are many people out there who receive these benefits and use them properly because they need welfare and to all those people struggling on the daily and are trying to support either themselves or their family, I support and salute
