On the southwest corner of 6th and Mt. Rushmore, there is a sign that says, "Welcome to Little Italy." The building next to the sign is a quadplex that shares many small businesses. This is a "mom and pop shop" area of town. Just to the north of all these businesses is an area where most of the drug addict and alcoholic population spend their time. This was a crime infested area with king pins in all sorts of drug categories. Our dispatcher received a call on. October 2nd, 2016 about a finding of bones inside the underpass near 6th and Jackson. When I arrived at the scene I saw bones and a huge hole, next to where, they were more than likely dug up. It looks like the bones have been there for quite a while. The man who found the body was a homeless man by the name of "B-Bop." We are guessing that the bones we found belonged to a victim of the drug ring that occurs around this area.

We still need to find out who this person was all the down to the bottom of the gel in DNA. To begin finding out who this person is we need to use DNA out of their bones and finger print samples. Also we will go through a missing persons report, that has occurred in the past week and try to match them up. Another investigation strategy we will use is, electrophoresis to analyze the pattern of bands that are left behind.
After we took samples of DNA out of the bones we used gel electrophoresis to separate the DNA fragments according to their size. Then we stain the DNA with a binding dye so we can see the fragments as bands, that represent groups of same sized DNA fragments. We use the polymorphisms to find out who this person was; because every one has their own unique position and amount of these. We will use electrophoresis to separate and measure the length of these fragments and ultimately find the genotypes of that individual and find out who this person
