Welcome To High School

Dear ,
Ruben welcome to Chelan High School! I am sure you will enjoy the next four years of your life. For example if you're a basketball fan you will love our games. They are so upbeat and competitive you'll feel proud to be a goat. The crowd pumps the players up, they stomp their feet and just make the experience awesome. Also our spirit weeks. I'm sure you’ve participated plenty in middle school, but high school spirit are so creative and fun to see all those people dressed like baboons just makes you lose it. And those barbeques they are good. Compared to school lunch you will scream happiness and come to love that BBQ sauce. Moving to high school is tough. It's a lot different than middle school, and there are some things you should know.

From kindergarten with Mrs. Casey to TAG reading with Ms. Casey, it has been a wild but fulfilling ride to high school.…

My most positive high school experience for me has to be when I was inducted into National Honor Society for my senior year. This was something that I has been striving to do since my freshman year after I received my first academic letter. But after our school decided to only allow seniors to be inducted, raised the GPA requirement, and reduced the amount of people that would be allowed to be inducted I wasn’t sure if my goal would still be attainable. But after three years of strenuous classes, constant volunteer service, and keeping my grades up I finally received an acceptance letter and was inducted into NHS where I am able to surround myself with others that have the same academic goals as…

At 38 degrees latitude north and 92 longitude west, lies the rural farming town of California, Missouri. This town is rich in cornfields, small businesses, and many churches of all denominations. From the quiet fields, to the busy town square this city is home to 4,341 people. What I believe makes California stand out from the other towns is that it has the “oldest continuously operating fair west of the Mississippi” (Kunze). But the thing that impacts me most about this town is the California High School, it’s staff, and the students.…

There is lots of advice I would give to an eighth grader considering high school will be some of the worst and best years of your life. I would say my most important three pieces of advice are that high school isn't really that great, friends will change, and the whole upperclassmen will hate you thing is not true. What I mean by high school not being that great is the classes are basically the same now it's just building on what you already know and it gets harder obviously.…
