Music is the religion everyone follows and can listen to non-stop. Out of all genres, rap is the top genre in the twenty-first century. We all rap, dance and believe in the lyrics that is delivered to the audience. Kendrick Lamar became a well-known rapper, from the day he released his first album to the present day. The message Kendrick Lamar is speaking to all people is to call his music their home. In his teen days, he started his career with singing or nowadays “rapping,” and sold millions of records through his rapping career globally. He had not too rough of childhood but dealt with the people he has to deal with and the bad things happening around his neighborhood. At the beginning of the music video shows “Welcome to Compton” which is telling the audience the music video is going to be about the city and its lifestyle Kendrick grew up. Almost everyone in Southern California knows the city of Compton is a dangerous city to live. People know the crimes involved happening every minute; Compton has barred windows, trashed streets, gang fights, and feels unsafe day and night. The way Kendrick Lamar shows the whole picture of how Compton is the opposite of what people can imagine. The city is where mostly African American people live in the city. It is rare to see any other color besides the dark skin tones Compton is known for, like Caucasian, Asian, or Pacific Islanders. Not only it is the home for African American people, but it is the home for rappers. Kendrick Lamar is one perfect example to say because Compton is the city he grew up his entire life, and that is when he began his singing career. The way he raps about his life tells a story about it to what he went through. Kendrick can relate to the other people who have been in as rough time as him. With some of the images stuck in his head, he says in the music video that he is proud growing up in a city where people the same color as him have each other’s back. While Lamar is singing along with a group of people, it shows that he an accepting person and not picking to who he wants to surround within the music video. Watching Kendrick rap with his friends shows he has a right amount of relationship with each of them, while he is dancing with others who may also be either his friends, strangers, friends of the family, or someone he decides to have joined him for his music video. There is no sign of any other celebrity in the music video you could know, which is a good thing. Getting more fame just to have celebrities in the music video does not make you look good but instead selfish. The rapper wants to give his people a chance to express their true selves and for it to not matter about the fame or professionally. Just to look at the people dancing to the music, they are listening to gives us a vibe that you want to dance with them. The people dancing are not professional dancers because if they are, they will move look so fit and showing off their perfect body. These people know how to run the show, and it just comes naturally to them which is a good thing. Everyone has that thing that comes naturally to them, to what, not a lot people can do. African American people have some moves that it looks like they are professional. All of the people looked like they are having fun and just for once have the time
