There are no heavy people on TV, but if you look around, they are everywhere. Houses are huge on TV—not in real life. There are no gum-spotted sidewalks or weedy verges on the television. If you believed the ads on television, you'd own at least a dozen cars. And I have never seen places like what they show on TV, that are pristine and empty—instead they are overrun with crowds trying to "get away from it all" in RVs complete with satellite dishes. And to quote that Eighties song: "the sun always shines on TV."”(Lorie A. Johnson) This goes to show how the American Dream is somewhat exaggerated. Of course in today’s society you can get rich quick off of just about anything,whether it is social media popularity built from appearance and entertainment .For example,”Danielle Bregoli, who went viral after appearing on an American television show could become a millionaire by the end of the year.”( Hannah Crouch) .Bregoli states “ Getting my own tv show, and gonna be a millionaire at 14.Whatchu all doing with your life ?” This too could be another factor of why the thirst to come to america is so high . What good is a dream that is not executed in result of hard work. This can fill older people with the bitter thought of “ I have worked all my life to continue struggling, and these kids have done nothing to win everything ?” it is a very contradictory
