Ladies and gentlemen,
Welcome to today’s ceremony and thank you for attending this beautiful celebration in this wonderful community. My name is Jasmine Irizarry. I’m honored to be speaking with you today on such an important occasion.
To you, our beloved veterans We are here today to honor you,our heroes, to remember your courage, your dedication and your achievements, and to say thank you for all you have done. Look around you, brave veterans, for all of these people in the park are testimony to the value of your sacrifice. We are all here for you. Many of you didn’t want to leave your homes to fight on distant battlefields. Many of you didn’t even volunteer. You were called to be part of something bigger than yourself. Your country

    On Friday, Feburary 12, The Consulate General of France in Miami and Philippe Létrilliart Consul General in partnership with The Honors College and the Frost Art Museum at Florida International University present “A Tribute to America’s WWII Veterans”. Having such a ceremony is yet a small gratitude compared to those brave men and women who found during World War II to prevent the spread of Nazism. The award is to honor those who fought alongside France during World War II. Six veterans received the Chevalier dans l'Ordre National de la Legion d’Honneur (Knight in the National Order of the Legion of Honor).
